Class Descriptions |
Beginners are welcome in all classes. Do not do poses that are painful for
you. We can offer modifications, or you may wish to rest at any point in the
class.
Beginning: beginners and continuing students are welcome. Poses and flows
(mindfully moving from pose to pose) will be gentle.
Beginning to Continuing: includes instruction for beginners and poses and
flows beyond beginning level. Emphasis is on deepening present moment
mindfulness including awareness of breath in synchrony with movement.
Beginning to Intermediate/Vinyasa Flow: yoga poses flowing energetically
from one to the next in synchrony with the breath. Instruction will be given
to beginners, but be ready for an active practice.
All levels: tends to be more strenuous to accommodate those who are ready
for more challenging poses. A fit beginner should be fine.
Beginning to Continuing/Yoga to Relax and Rejuvenate: Beginning to
continuing level class, with some parts of the class devoted to the
rejuvenating benefits of yin yoga (static poses on the floor to deepen the
stretch of inner-connective tissue) and restorative yoga (poses to relax and
surrender into the support of bolsters, blankets or blocks).
***If you need assistance getting up and down from the floor, or you need
chair yoga, please call (770-425-4488) to discuss the possibility of an
individual session. We will be happy to accommodate your needs, but may not
be able to do so in a class setting. We also offer individual sessions
designed for your specific interests otherwise. For example, you may want a
challenge beyond what is offered in class, or a personal exploration of yoga
philosophy, or meditation with one-to-one instruction. We take your personal
needs seriously and want to help you deepen your practice in any way we can.
