Other tips:
- It is good to try different instructors to get a feel for what style
of yoga works best for your needs and interests.
- Don't be afraid to ask questions.
- Yoga should not be painful.
We want to
avoid injuries. Pain is a message that something is wrong. If you feel
pain, back off of the pose and ask the teacher for a modification.
- Do
not eat a regular meal for about 3 hours before yoga.
If you need to eat a light snack, that generally is okay.
-
Do not compare yourself to others.
Yoga is not about competition. It is about the union of your body, breath,
mind, heart, and spirit.
- Enjoy!
