Mission Statement: Our mission is to offer quality intensive exploration in the practice and philosophy of yoga and meditation with the intention of enhancing awareness and knowledge of your True Self, and of enabling you to safely and effectively teach yoga and meditation to others.

Do you attend yoga classes, practice yoga on your own, and still hunger for more?

Come to the Marietta Yoga Teacher Training/Immersion Program. Whether you want to become a yoga teacher or not, you will deepen your own personal practice and expand your study and understanding of yoga and yourself. Curriculum Requirements

Applicants need to make a strong commitment to the entire program. Marietta Center for Yoga and Well Being is primarily set up for yoga students and clients, so we have limited time available outside defined yoga teacher training hours. All weekends must be completed to earn certification. Therefore, no missed weekends are allowed. If this is unavoidable, missed weekend hours may be made up the following season, or make up time for missed sessions may be available at additional cost, as leaders’ limited schedules allow.

Please understand that study is expected outside of weekend class dates, including required reading, projects, papers, and required yoga classes between meeting sessions.

Prerequisites

  1. Students must have a regular yoga practice for at least 9 months before enrollment.
  2. Please submit one personal reference and one teacher reference.
  3. Answer the teacher training application questions below, and email a copy to BOTH yogawan@mindspring.com and beckyyoga@gmail.com. Once we receive your application we will contact you to set up a short interview at the yoga center.

Yoga Teacher Training/Immersion Application Questions:

(You may not intend to be a yoga teacher professionally, but we expect you to participate in the program with the understanding that you may be asked to teach family members, a small group of friends or co-workers.)

  1. Describe your current personal practice yoga and meditation practice. Include any significant consistencies and variations in your practice.
  2. Describe any limitations/challenges that you have, including any physical, emotional or family issues or job demands. If you are on any medications, please list and explain what the medicine treats. We would like to know these things about you to understand you and your needs, not to use the information to deny your attendance to the YTT. We want to make sure that we can accommodate you in a way that will serve you and the group to the best of our ability.
  3. What is your level of education?
  4. Do you have experience teaching yoga? Do you have teaching experience in any other field? Please describe.
  5. What has drawn you to want to be a yoga teacher?
  6. What do you hope to gain from this yoga teacher training/immersion program? What draws you to this specific program?
  7. What traits or attributes will you offer to others as a program participant? As a yoga teacher?
Tell us an example, a true story, which describes the aspects of your personality or general nature that demonstrate the same things about you that will make you a good yoga teacher.
